I’ve read a few major newspaper headlines regarding what Obama is “up to next” and what the different campaigns are doing now. One from the New York Times mentioned how Barack Obama has switched his focus off of several other things he was talking about to the economy and I don’t see why this is a bad thing at all. If anyone has ever worked in a high pressure job, they would be completely knowing of “interrupt” jobs or things that come up that push everything else aside… when really, they still actually have to finish the “pushed aside” stuff at their same deadline too regardless of any interruptions.
It’s my opinion that Obama has decided to openly talk about what everyone’s thinking about, and many are worried about. This isn’t stopping his regular campaign, but is becoming a focus not just because the news stories care to highlight it, but because the US is HIGHLY affected by the economy and its current disaster in progress.
I believe if anyone should talk about the economy, it should be Obama. After all, he’s able to bring in huge crowds that other politicians can’t. It’s going to take those crowds and population masses to make a big difference in these coming years… whether that means the economy, or otherwise. Obama… you’ve still got my vote. Keep it up and don’t let the news agencies sway your thoughts! And congrats to your great choice of running mates. Joe Biden is the man. I couldn’t be happier in your choice. Obama Biden 08!

Barack Obama is now available in 3D on Google Sketchup
Created using Google sketchup6. It’s a semi-low res textured model with a little under 400 polygons. The next step is a full body version which I’ll create when I get some time. Sketchup’s texturing abilities are great for flatter objects, but I’ve still got a bit to learn about how to apply it to organically shaped objects without seams. Each polygon’s texture on this model was painstakingly aligned by hand. In newer versions, I hope to make it seamless with several larger textures instead. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to download Google sketchup6(free) to view it in all its 3d-ness.

Leave a Comment It’s an exciting time in the election season, and I’ve had many thoughts going though my head about our country and what all needs to happen in the coming years. I’ll get ahead of myself a bit and get down to the point. Let’s assume Obama gets elected in 2008 and yet again in 2012. If he is anything of what he says he is, and if his supporters stay truly motivated to make a change in this country, what would happen after he gets out of office? Assuming he does an amazing job at being president, how on earth would we go about getting another president after him… he seems to be the type of person you don’t want to get on stage after. It’s way in the future, but I would bet that Obama becomes a major force in American politics after his possible presidency. I could see him taking some sort of activist role similar to Al Gore and his role on environmental issues.
If he doesn’t get elected, and nothing happens in 2008 or 2012, I can only imagine the problems our country will be faced with that. I don’t think it’s so much of what he himself would do, but by the supporters he can rally up that just simply put.. the other candidates just can’t.
